I AM GITMO

CAUSE: Human Rights

CATEGORY: Film

PROJECT DIRECTOR: Philippe Diaz

I AM GITMO is a feature film examining torture during the War on Terror. While several films have been made exploring this topic, I AM GITMO is the first film made from the point of view of the victim rather than the perspective of the American Hero. The main characters are fictional, but everything that happens to them is based on authentic facts and has been documented in the multiple public hearings held regarding the prisoners of Guantanamo Bay in Cuba and other CIA black sites around the world. To this day, 31 detainees are still being held at Guantanamo Bay.
